چکیده

We report on VHE γ-observations with the MAGIC telescope of the pulsar PSR B1951+32 and its associated nebula CTB 80. Our data constrain the cutoff energy of the pulsar to be < 32GeV, assuming the pulsed γ-ray emission to be exponentially cutoff. The upper limit on the flux of pulsed γ-ray emission > 75GeV is 4.3 · 10 photons cm sec and the upper limit on the flux of steady emission > 140GeV is 1.5 · 10 photons cm sec. We discuss our results in the framework of recent model predictions and other studies. Subject headings: CTB 80, PSR B1951+32, Pulsar wind nebula, Pulsar

Constraints on the Steady and Pulsed Very High Energy Gamma-ray Emission from Observation of Psr B1951+32 / Ctb 80 with the Magic Telescope

We report on very high energy γ-observations with the MAGIC Telescope of the pulsar PSR B1951+32 and its associated nebula, CTB 80. Our data constrain the cutoff energy of the pulsar to be less than 32GeV, assuming the pulsed γ-ray emission to be exponentially cut off. The upper limit on the flux of pulsed γ-ray emission above 75GeV is 4.3 · 10 photons cm sec, and the upper limit on the flux of...

Detection of new Optical Counterpart candidates to PSR B1951+32 with HST/WFPC2

There remain several definitive γ-ray pulsars that are as yet undetected in the optical regime. A classic case is the pulsar PSR B1951+32, associated with the complex CTB 80 SNR. Previous ground based high speed 2-d optical studies have ruled out candidates to mV ∼ 24. Hester (2000a) has reported an analysis of archival HST/WFPC2 observations of the CTB 80 complex which suggest a compact synchr...

A Search for the Optical Counterpart of PSR B 1951 + 32 in the Supernova Remnant CTB 80 ⋆

Using time-resolved two-dimensional aperture photometry we have put upper limits on the pulsed emission from two proposed optical counterparts for PSR B1951+32. Our pulsed upper limits of mv,pulsed > 23.3, mb,pulsed > 24.4, for the first candidate and mv,pulsed > 23.6, mb,pulsed > 24.3 for the second, make it unlikely that either of these is, in fact, the pulsar. We discuss three further candid...

X-ray Spectroscopy of Psr B1951+32 and Its Pulsar Wind Nebula

We present spatially resolved X-ray spectroscopy of PSR B1951+32 and its pulsar wind nebula (PWN) in supernova remnant (SNR) CTB 80 using a Chandra observation. The Chandra X-ray map reveals clearly various components of a ram-pressure confined PWN embedded in the SNR ejecta: a point source representing the pulsar, X-ray emission from the bow shock, a luminous X-ray tail, a 30 diameter plateau ...

MAGIC search for VHE γ-ray emission from AE Aquarii in a multiwavelength context

Context. It has been claimed that the nova-like cataclysmic variable (CV) AE Aquarii (AE Aqr) is a very-high-energy (VHE, E >100 GeV) source both on observational and theoretical grounds. Aims. We search for VHE γ-ray emission from AE Aqr during different states of the source at several wavelengths to confirm or rule out previous claims of detection of γ-ray emission from this object. Methods. ...
